Cardiology Services for Pets

Helping care for pets with heart issues to improve their quality of life.

Our cardiology services help support pets with heart issues, including heart diseases and other cardiac conditions. We also provide a diagnosis of cardiac issues, with our on-site diagnostic tools like X-rays. Whether we're providing your pet with diagnostic testing or supporting the treatment of their heart conditions, we will provide them with the best possible care.

Are heart conditions common in pets?

Congenital conditions are present from birth whereas acquired conditions develop over time. Your pet is often predisposed to some conditions, based on their breed or parents. For example, congenital heart failure happens when your pet's heart has a hard time pumping blood throughout their body. Acquired conditions are most common in adult and senior pets, often caused by aging or general wear and tear throughout their lifetime.

How do you diagnose heart disease?

Heart disease covers a range of heart conditions, each with a unique diagnostic process. However, most conditions include using a combination of physical exams, X-ray, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, bloodwork and urinalysis. We highly recommend diagnostic testing if your pet has any of the following symptoms:

  • Dry cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Potbelly
  • Fatigue

How do you treat heart disease?

Based on your pet's diagnosis, we'll recommend treatment that supports their recovery and pain management. Depending on our assessment, we could recommend treatments like medication, supplements, a special diet or surgery.
